Lancaster County Young Republicans host Fundraiser at Mulberry Art Studios

By Tammy Tedesco

The Lancaster County Young Republicans will be hosting their first fundraiser of 2013 on Thursday, February 7th, at the Mulberry Art Studios. This fundraiser will also serve as a benefit for the Milagro House is a transitional shelter for homeless mothers and their children, which is funded solely by private donations from the Lancaster Community. They do not solicit or receive government funding.

This is the first reception of this type that the YRs have held in almost twenty years.

“We are excited to be pairing our event as a benefit for the Milagro House, to help offset some of their cost for all of the hard work that they do, in transitioning these women and their families into the community.  We are especially proud to be working to expand our outreach within the Lancaster Community,” said YR Chairwoman Colleen Anderson.

Event attendees can expect a fun filled evening of live music, hor d’oeuvres and refreshments, along with other activities that are being planned throughout the evening.

One of these activities will be a silent auction from a print that has been donated by Congressman Joe Pitts, the money from this silent auction will go directly to benefit the Milagro House.

Gail Rittenhouse, Executive Director of the Milagro House states that, “ Milagro House does not accept any government dollars so as to remain pure to the mission and provide the highest quality of service

delivery. Instead, we rely solely on the support of the Lancaster community to raise the needed operational funds. We are most appreciative of the partnership of the Young Republican group in the life changing work that we do!”

The YRs would also like to thank April Koppenhaver the owner and founder of Mulberry Art Studios for welcoming this event and our group into her beautiful gallery.

This event is open to the Lancaster Community to attend, for more information please visit our website at http://www.lancasteryoungrepublicans.com.
